CUP Reus will bring to Friday's plenary session the demand to define the use of the Adif land and the request to open the Thrombectomy Unit 24 hours a day at Hospital Joan XXIII in Tarragona.

The independentist party CUP of Reus revives its proposal for the future of the Adif rail yard land, located next to the train station. The motion, which will be debated in Friday's plenary session, seeks for the municipal government to publicly state its position regarding the urban modification, which could include a green zone, municipal facilities, or housing.
The party advocates for the creation of a large green area and the construction of a bridge exclusively for pedestrians, bicycles, and scooters, connecting the station area with the Boca de la Mina promenade. Their proposal rejects the creation of new housing blocks and urges the initiation of a participatory process with the citizens.

"Now there are no excuses, since the same people govern in Reus, in Catalunya and in the Spanish state."

This action follows the signing of the protocol for the future transfer and integration of the railway station last November by the Mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, and the president of Adif, Pedro Marco. However, no concrete action has yet been defined, although the mayor mentioned ideas such as green zones, public facilities, or subsidized housing.
The second motion that the CUP will bring to the plenary focuses on healthcare. They demand that the Municipal Government request the Department of Health, CatSalut, and ICS to open the Thrombectomy Unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at the Hospital Universitari Joan XXIII in Tarragona, to reinforce stroke care in Camp de Tarragona.
