Culture Councillor Daniel Recasens announced his candidacy to lead Esquerra Republicana in the Reus municipal elections in 2027, taking over from Noemí Llauradó.

The current number two of the municipal group of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) in Reus, Daniel Recasens, has stepped forward to run as the head of the list in the municipal elections scheduled for 2027, as reported by Canal Reus.
This decision allows the previous candidate, Noemí Llauradó, who had led the Republicans since 2015, to continue her political career outside the local sphere. Recasens currently holds the position of Culture Councillor in the Reus City Council.
Recasens' candidacy still requires ratification by the ERC executive committee. The internal process remains open pending whether any other candidates come forward, which could necessitate holding primary elections within the party.
The first interview with Daniel Recasens following this announcement will be broadcast on Wednesday at 9 AM on the program Reus de cara on LANOVA Ràdio de Reus.
