The Sant Joan de Reus University Hospital hosted the 2nd European Breastfeeding Week Conference, organized with the Catalan Health Institute (ICS), to discuss the benefits and challenges of breastfeeding.

The event gathered maternal and child care professionals and interested individuals, highlighting the importance of breastfeeding for the well-being of mothers and infants. The conference emphasized this practice as a fundamental tool for health.
One of the round tables focused on tongue-tie, an increasingly frequent query in breastfeeding contexts. Participants included speech therapist Olga Rion, midwife Esther Ichart, pediatrician Judit Ariño, and physiotherapist Adrià Llorach, who shared their experience in the multidisciplinary approach to this issue.
Subsequently, two projects by Resident Intern Nurses (IIR) were presented. Esther López shared research on the knowledge and perceptions of lactating mothers of newborns hospitalized in the Neonatology Area regarding breast milk donation. Paula Gracia presented a study on assessing breastfeeding knowledge in pregnant women at 40 weeks of gestation.
The conference featured a presentation on the current situation of breastfeeding support groups, led by Sandra Paixà, a pediatric nurse from the CAP Marià Fortuny in Reus. The activity concluded with an open Q&A session for the exchange of experiences.
