The winery Mas Vicenç, from Cabra del Camp, will dedicate the profits from its Solidarity Novello Wine 2026 to advancing cancer research at the Institut de Recerca Biomèdica Catalunya Sud (IRB CatSud), specifically to the GIOTEC group at Hospital Sant Joan de Reus.

For each bottle sold, 0.50 euros will be donated to support the research of the GIOTEC group in the genomic and metabolic study of cancer. The solidarity initiative, now in its fourth edition, has launched its 2026 Novello Wine harvest, made with Garnacha negra. The presentation took place at the restaurant El Pòsit, in El Serrallo, Tarragona.
During the event, IRB CatSud researchers Laia Bertran and Maria Murphy explained the lines of research in oncology, highlighting work on biomarkers for early detection and personalized medicine. They emphasized the importance of initiatives like this in bringing research closer to society and improving people's health.
Vanessa Roig, Communications Manager at IRB CatSud, thanked Mas Vicenç for their commitment, noting that these actions unite efforts between society and researchers.
The initiative stems from a personal experience with cancer. Xavier Ferré, co-owner and sommelier of Mas Vicenç, highlighted the desire to transform a collective gesture into hope and support. The wine comes from a vineyard in the Planes de Cabra del Camp area.
The production of the 2026 Solidarity Novello Wine is one thousand units and is now available for purchase on the Mas Vicenç website and in specialized stores in the province of Tarragona. The initiative is also supported by GrupMicros, Gràfiques Darc, and TGDigital.
