The exhibition featuring the winning and finalist works of the I Paco Aguilera Painting Award, promoted by the Fundació Villablanca, concludes its 2025 touring route at the Biblioteca Central Xavier Amorós in Reus until January 7.
The exhibition concludes a year-long itinerant journey, during which more than 300 people visited it across the Camp de Tarragona and the Terres de l'Ebre regions. This closing event is part of the program organized by the Reus City Council’s Area of Services to People and Social Rights to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

"Behind every work in the exhibition there is a creative process that helps people communicate and, helps us to know them through their artistic expression, because art does not understand disabilities, but capacities."
Àngels Ortega, Assistant Director of the Fundació Villablanca, emphasized the therapeutic aspect of artistic creation as a tool for personal expression and development. In this first edition, the competition saw the participation of 127 artists from 28 disability care entities across Catalonia.
“
"This exhibition reaffirms the city's commitment to making art and culture accessible to everyone. It is a display that transmits talent, creativity, and expressive force that directly engages the public."
Culture Councillor Daniel Recasens expressed pride in closing the 2025 tour in a reference space like the Biblioteca Xavier Amorós. Meanwhile, Councillor Annabel Martínez highlighted that the award is a clear example of how artistic creation can generate inclusion, self-esteem, and recognition.
The organization confirmed that the award will be biennial. The second edition will be officially announced in March 2026, aiming for the process to culminate in December 2026, coinciding again with the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The winning and finalist works can also be viewed in an electronic book at premipacoaguilera.com.
