The two-all draw for Reus FC Reddis during their visit to Torrent has left the Reus team with no safety margin in the fight for play-off positions. After two consecutive victories in the Balearic Islands, the home defeat against Atlètic Lleida and the draw in Valencia have kept the red-and-blacks in fifth place in Group 3 of 2a RFEF, with 46 points.
The top two positions, which grant direct promotion to 1a RFEF, now seem out of reach. Sant Andreu, undefeated since November, could mathematically secure first place with a victory at València Mestalla's ground. Meanwhile, Atlètic Balears has consolidated its second position with 54 points, showing great consistency in the final stretch of the season.
In the battle for the remaining three play-off spots, five teams are within a narrow margin. Poblera, one of the season's revelations, occupies third place with 50 points, despite a less favorable recent run. Just behind, by a single point, Alcoià is one of the teams in better form, standing out for its defensive solidity with only 20 goals conceded in 30 matches.
Reus FC Reddis, in fifth place, is three points behind Alcoià, but holds the goal average advantage in case of a tie, a factor that could prove decisive. This advantage also applies in direct confrontations with Barça Atlètic and Terrassa, direct rivals in this promotion battle.
The team led by Marc Carrasco is not in its best form heading into this crucial period, struggling to control matches and facing the significant absence of Ramon Folch. In attack, Ricardo Vaz is the main reference with ten goals, supported by experienced players like Sandro Toscano, Kenneth Soler, and Alberto Benito.
Reus FC Reddis's remaining schedule is demanding. This Sunday at 12 PM, they will host Eivissa at the Estadi Municipal. Subsequently, they will visit Narcís Sala to face the league leaders, Sant Andreu, and will close their home matches against Olot. The regular season will conclude at Terrassa's ground, a direct rival in the play-off race.
