The “Testimonies of the Past” section recently shared several snapshots documenting daily life in Reus. One of the oldest, dated 1949, shows a bus full of passengers, mostly men, about to depart for Reus. Another relevant photograph is that of Casa Gasull, captured from Sardà i Cailà street during the forties, featuring period vehicles parked on the street.
Regarding lost architectural heritage, the facade of the former Guarque School is highlighted. This educational institution operated for many years at 39 Martí Folguera Raval in Reus before the building was finally demolished. These images serve to remember spaces that are no longer part of the current urban landscape.
El Carrilet was a means of transport that brought our city closer to the sea and vice versa, offering a popular and friendly character.
Finally, historical memory also includes the sports aspect. An image from 1973 recalls the popular Carrilet, the means of transport that connected the city with the sea. In another context, the tenure of Santi Juncosa as coach at Falset Esportiu during a season in the eighties, under the presidency of Octavi Llop, is remembered.
