The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested two young people, one a minor, in Reus on Monday, December 15, accused of making false 112 calls to provoke attacks against patrols in the Gaudí neighborhood.

The calls were made between September 7 and October 20, urgently activating several police units (Mossos and Guàrdia Urbana). Upon arrival, officers were met with firecrackers and blunt objects, later confirming that the reported incidents (assaults, fires, gender violence) were completely false.
In total, nine false calls were registered from the same phone number, and the rest from two different numbers, all made during late night or early morning hours. The two detainees, along with a woman under investigation, face charges for public disorder and assault on agents of authority.
Among the episodes of aggression, the throwing of half a dozen eggs at officers on October 8 on Avinguda Barcelona stands out, following a false attempted squatting alert. Just one day later, in Plaça Sagrada Família, a Guàrdia Urbana patrol was hit by stones and other objects due to a supposed container fire.
On October 18, the Mossos had to quickly retreat after a powerful firecracker and blunt objects hit the vehicle's windshield while responding to a false gender violence alert. The two arrested individuals, aged 19 and a minor, who have previous records for property crimes, were released with the obligation to appear before the judicial authority when required.
