On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the City Council once again joins the protest day on October 1st with the reading of the manifesto "We Retire from Work, Not from Life". The event will take place in L'Hospitalet de l'Infant at 11:00 AM and in Vandellòs at 12:30 PM.
The text, promoted with the participation of the Federation of Pensioners and Retirees of CCOO of Catalonia, the Council for Older Persons of Catalonia, and numerous entities, includes key demands such as the right to age with dignity, receive quality care, combat loneliness and ageism, overcome the digital divide, and continue actively participating in society.
The City Council accompanies entities and services related to older persons in the municipality, promoting their participation and inviting older persons themselves to voice the manifesto.
Taking advantage of this meeting, the new Services and Resources Guide for Older Persons will also be presented. This practical tool will compile information on municipal resources in areas such as social services, health, safety, social life, culture, sports, participation, volunteering, or digital support, facilitating access to information and adapting services to the needs of older persons.
