The events took place shortly after 4 p.m. on January 6, 2026, when the motorcyclist ignored a joint checkpoint set up by the Vila-seca Local Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra on a road connecting the town to the La Plana neighborhood. The individual sped away towards Reus, the capital of Baix Camp.
During the escape, the motorcyclist encountered a flock of sheep and collided with one, which died as a result of the impact. The collision forced him to abandon the motorcycle, which was stolen, and continue his flight on foot, already within the municipal boundaries of Reus.
The arrested individual has a pending prison entry order, allegedly related to a crime of blood committed when he was still a minor.
The arrest occurred on Comandant Sugranyes Street, in the DYNA industrial estate. When an officer caught up with him, the fugitive sprayed him with pepper spray, temporarily blinding him. Despite the assault, the man was subdued and detained shortly after.
He is charged with several offenses, including resisting authority, assault on officers, driving without a license, using a stolen motorcycle, and drug dealing. Utensils related to the trafficking of narcotic substances were found on the abandoned motorcycle.
