The road transport company Hife maintained usual traffic between Tortosa, Tarragona, and Barcelona on January 21, with only one morning reinforcement, compensating for the train service stoppage in Terres de l’Ebre.

Transport operations in Terres de l’Ebre proceeded with near-normal bus service, despite the interruption of rail traffic. The company Hife ensured the usual connections between the Ebro capital and the cities of Tarragona and Barcelona.
The only significant exception occurred early in the morning. According to company sources consulted by ACN, the 6:00 AM bus, which is typically not full, required a second convoy reinforcement to absorb the additional demand.

The 6:00 AM service coincides with the Avant Exprés train schedule connecting Tortosa with Barcelona, the only fast train offered in the territory to reach the Catalan capital around eight in the morning.

In addition to its regular operation, Hife also collaborated with Renfe by enabling shuttle buses. These vehicles were used to connect the train station in Tortosa with the one in l’Aldea, thus facilitating the mobility of users affected by the rail incident.
