The Meteorological Service of Catalonia has issued a warning of intense precipitation in the eastern half of the territory starting from midday. It is expected to exceed 20 mm in 30 minutes in the prelitoral and litoral regions, potentially accompanied by thunderstorms.
From midnight, the rainfall will move from southeast to northeast, affecting southern, central, and northeastern Catalonia. The episode could exceed 40 mm in 30 minutes, and rainfall intensity over 3-hour periods might surpass 90 mm. Local accumulations of around 150 mm are expected between midnight and midday tomorrow, with possible thunderstorms and strong wind gusts.
This episode of intense rainfall is expected to last until Wednesday morning.
