The thirty-first edition of the Olive Oil Fair of the Terres de l'Ebre, held in Jesús, successfully overcame adverse weather conditions, recording significant public attendance and sales, thus consolidating its importance in the local calendar.

Despite intermittent rain affecting the program's development, the event managed to carry out all planned activities. The organization highlighted the high participation in various competitions and the satisfaction of exhibitors with their sales.

"All planned activities could be carried out, without the need to suspend them, thanks to the great work of the organizing committee members in accommodating them at other times and spaces."

The fair was inaugurated by the president of the Association of Decentralized Municipal Entities of Catalonia and mayor of Valldoreix. Olive oil remained the undisputed star, with the Olive Oil Agora and a wide range of competitions, from oil tasting to the preparation of allioli and cured olives, some with over two decades of tradition.
Among the competition winners, Aurem Sevillenc de Soldebre oil won the absolute prize in the tasting, including the DOP Baix Ebre-Montsià-Terra Alta category and the gastronomic award. In the allioli competition, one participant prepared 2,420 kilograms in twenty minutes, while in the youth category, a young person achieved 550 grams. The olive pit spitting competition saw an adult participant reach 10.04 meters, and a young person 2.20 meters. The mortar masters category, which brings together former winners, awarded an allioli seasoned with rosemary. The best homemade cured olives were recognized in both green and black categories.
Other highlights of the fair included music, exhibitions, a theatrical performance at the Molí de Pataques, an Instagram photo contest, popular tasting of the winning oils, and various animal displays. The organizing committee wished to acknowledge the work of the equestrian centers at the event, presenting their representatives with the traditional farmer's blouse. Finally, a visitor won their weight in oil, balancing 107 liters of extra virgin olive oil on a traditional scale.
