The Junts per Tortosa municipal group has reported that Tortosa City Council closed the fiscal year with more than 750,000 euros in outstanding invoices yet to be paid.

Councillor Òscar Ologaray recalled that in December, the group warned the plenary that the debt was expected to reach 500,000 euros. However, the final provisional figures show the amount has increased significantly, surpassing the initial warnings.

"The final data evidence a deficient economic management."

The opposition group criticized Mayor Mar Lleixà for her previous claims that the administration was working to reduce the debt. Junts argues that the current situation creates uncertainty and directly harms local suppliers waiting for payment from the 2024 fiscal year.
