The Junts per Tortosa municipal group will submit a motion to the Tortosa City Council on March 2 to demand a clear execution schedule for the Parador renovation.

The group, led by Meritxell Roigé, is asking the Ministry of Industry and Tourism and the state-owned company Paradores for transparency regarding a 10.3 million euro investment. Although Minister Jordi Hereu previously stated works would begin this autumn, the project has reportedly been delayed indefinitely.
The renovation was first announced during the FITUR trade fair in Madrid in January 2023. This project is separate from the 4 million euros in Next Generation funds currently being used to restore the historical heritage surrounding the building.

"We demand transparency, clear explanations, and firm commitments. Tortosa deserves that the announced investments are fulfilled."

Following public pressure, Paradores admitted they are rethinking the original development plan. The motion seeks formal guarantees that the construction will start no later than 2026.
