The council has launched an information campaign to advise affected property owners, facilitating the submission of 125 individual objections to the Generalitat de Catalunya. The move responds to concerns over the potential installation of photovoltaic panels and wind turbines in areas with primary residences and established economic activity.
The municipal government supports the need for energy transition but demands that infrastructure deployment be compatible with landscape preservation and the quality of life of residents. According to the council, the current proposal has failed to account for the social and territorial impact in various parts of the municipality.
“"The City Council does not oppose the development of renewable energies, but considers it essential that their implementation be compatible with the protection of the territory and the residents."
The municipal plenary session is scheduled to approve a joint manifesto with other municipalities this Wednesday to reinforce the request for a review of the plan. The goal is to ensure that energy planning is carried out through consensus with the territory and by seeking alternatives with lower socioeconomic impact.
