L'Ametlla de Mar has completed the renovation of an iconic mural on Miramar street, a key piece of the Efimurs urban art route, aiming to bolster the municipality's cultural appeal and maritime identity.

Throughout May, L'Ametlla de Mar has finished the refurbishment of the mural located on Miramar street, one of the most representative works of the Efimurs urban art route. This action is part of projects promoted by the municipality's Tourism Sustainability Plan, funded by European Union Next Generation funds, and seeks to consolidate the town's cultural appeal and visual identity.
The artwork, originally created by local artist Uri Márquez Cateura, involved the participation of Madrid-based artist Asem in this renovation, known for creating the 'La Sirenita' mural. The Miramar street mural depicts L'Ametlla de Mar's deep connection with the sea and fishing, essential elements of its history and identity.
The composition pays tribute to fishermen and the maritime tradition that has shaped the municipality's character over generations, serving as an artistic affirmation of the 'calera' essence. This intervention aligns with the municipal commitment to preserve and update the elements of the Efimurs route, a project that transforms urban spaces into cultural and tourist points of interest.
Since its launch, Efimurs has become a valuable complementary attraction for L'Ametlla de Mar's tourism offerings. The various artistic interventions spread throughout the streets contribute to enriching visitor experiences and diversifying cultural tourism resources.
The renovation of the Miramar street mural reinforces the commitment to a sustainable and innovative tourism model, linked to the territory's values. It also consolidates the Efimurs route as a unique proposal combining creativity, local identity, and urban space revitalization.
