The l'Ametlla de Mar Town Council has officially restored 24/7 emergency medical coverage, ensuring year-round healthcare availability for the local community through its SUM service.

Following the hiring of new technical and nursing staff, the SUM team now consists of 10 professionals. In 2025, the service handled 743 calls, with a notable shift towards home-based care, which rose from 36 to 117 visits in just twelve months.

"I make a more than positive assessment of the activity in 2025."

New technological implementations include the Doctomatic system for remote patient monitoring and the Irural app for better geolocation in rural areas. Most interventions involve patients over 75 years old, primarily dealing with trauma from falls or neurological issues.
