The XXVII Rice Gastronomic Days in L'Ampolla will be held from September 11th to October 11th, gathering 13 restaurants from the municipality. The establishments will offer special menus combining local products with seafood cuisine, using Delta rice as the main ingredient.
One of the highlights will be the XXV Harvest Festival on Sunday, September 20th, at the Port Pesquer (from 11 AM to 1:30 PM). This event will recreate traditional tasks such as animal-powered threshing, winnowing, and bagging rice, accompanied by traditional Delta folk music from Guardet lo Cantador and Rondalla Suc d’Anguila, and will include a rice tasting.
The preceding weekend, on Saturday, September 19th, an Artisan Market will take place in Plaça Catalunya and the pedestrian zone (from 5 PM to 9 PM). Subsequently, on Sunday, September 27th, the Port Pesquer will host a jota dance performance with the same artists.
The gastronomic menus, priced between 40 and 55 euros, will feature ingredients such as lobster, eel, monkfish, or prawns, paired with wines from Terra Alta, highlighting the products of the Terres de l’Ebre region.
Through this initiative, L'Ampolla aims to promote traditional rice cultivation activities during the harvest season and concentrate a specific gastronomic offering within the municipality.
