The beekeeping company Mel Muria, based in el Perelló (Baix Ebre), has been awarded two gold medals and one silver at the XVIII edition of the BIOLMIEL International Award, recently held in Bari (Italy).

The company, considered the largest and most important in ecological beekeeping in Catalonia, received the recognition in one of the world's most prestigious competitions dedicated to organic honey. The three samples submitted by Mel Muria achieved the best results, consolidating its international prestige.

"It is an enormous source of pride and a reward for the job well done by many generations of our family. It confirms that betting on ecological beekeeping, rooted in the territory and respectful of nature, is the correct path."

The BIOLMIEL Awards aim to annually distinguish the best international organic honeys through a rigorous process. This process combines physicochemical analyses, carried out at the CREAA-AA Laboratory in Bologna, and an organoleptic evaluation by the BIOLMIEL International Jury, led by Gian Luigi Marcazzan.
In this edition, the competition saw the participation of 63 international beekeepers, who presented a total of 228 honey samples from nine countries, including Spain, Italy, Greece, and Germany. With this new success, Mel Muria, founded in 1810, reaffirms its trajectory as a global leader in the ecological beekeeping sector, positioning the honey produced in el Perelló among the best in the world.
