For reasons that are still under investigation, the motorcycle ridden by the victim went off the road. As a result of the impact, the rider fell into a channel near the carriageway, which caused their death.

Following the incident, six patrols from the Mossos d’Esquadra, four units from the Bombers de la Generalitat, and a ground unit along with a medicalized helicopter from the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) were deployed to attend the scene.

With this new fatality, the number of people who have lost their lives on Catalan roads this year has risen to 50. Of this total, 21 were motorcyclists, according to provisional data from the Servei Català de Trànsit.
