The Tortosa City Council has demolished the side wall of the old train bridge, a key step for the new 284-space car park and a landscaped area on the former Renfe lands.

This Tuesday, the removal of the wall separating Avinguda de la Generalitat from the future car park symbolizes a significant advance in the project. The initiative aims to transform the former Renfe lands into a large parking area and a green space.
The new car park, which will have 284 spaces, will also include a landscaped area. It will have a double entrance via Ronda de Reus and Ronda dels Docs streets, and will connect to Carrer Màrtirs de 1640 through a new road intended for emergency vehicles.

"The car parks will guarantee rotation and will allow this entire space to be revitalized, connecting the Temple neighborhood with the city center."

Mar Lleixà · Mayor of Tortosa
The mayor, Mar Lleixà, highlighted the importance of this action for the revitalization of the area and the improvement of the connection between the Temple neighborhood and the city center. This change in the city's appearance will require patience from citizens due to possible traffic disruptions during the construction period.
