This vehicle, an electric locomotive designed to evoke the old Carrilet that connected Tortosa and La Cava, has already arrived in the city and will be displayed outside the Remolins exhibition pavilion throughout the fair. Its official presentation took place this Monday during a reception event.
“"It is a 100% electric train that recalls the old Carrilet, built by the Lleida-based company Ilertren Tourist Train, and which we now have here to complement the Circuit Verd de les Muralles project and the upcoming reorganization of the entire riverbank, where there will also be one of the containers for renting electric bicycles."
The same source added that this project is part of the urban and tourist transformation that the city is undergoing. Meanwhile, the Councillor for Fairs emphasized that the new tourist train will be seen for the first time during Expoebre, before it becomes operational, and is expected to be one of the major attractions of this edition.
From the Diputació de Tarragona, the vice-president highlighted the project as a new tourist asset for the territory and reaffirmed support for the fair, which this year receives a subsidy of 75,000 euros.
In addition to the train, Expoebre will offer other attractions such as the Roda de Fira, a giant 30-meter Ferris wheel, a new edition of the Rider1000 motorcycle event, and a musical program with concerts and DJ sessions. The fair will combine gastronomic, educational, and family spaces with proposals like Ebretast, Ebreambient, and the Animal Welfare Fair, which is integrated into the venue this year. Free shuttle buses will also be available to facilitate access from different parts of the city. The edition will conclude with a small fireworks display.
