The company Nomen Foods has allocated 1.1 million euros to the expansion and modernization of its plant in Deltebre, in Baix Ebre, aiming to increase production capacity and develop new formats for export.
This strategic investment will enable the rice company to increase the capacity of its packaging and end-of-line operations by between 15% and 20%. The project, which also includes the acquisition of new machinery, focuses on improving operational efficiency and production flexibility.
The new technology will facilitate the development of innovative packaging formats, specifically designed for international markets, such as the British consumer, and for value-added channels. The ACCIÓ agency, part of the Department of Enterprise, has supported the expansion, which received a grant of 515,000 euros from the Nuclear Transition Fund.

"This investment is key to strengthening Nomen Foods' industrial competitiveness and adapting to new market demands, both in production efficiency and format diversification. It allows us to grow from the territory, generate more added value, and advance our strategy of opening up to new international markets, maintaining our commitment to sustainability and the Ebro Delta."
The company made the announcement during a visit to the facilities by the Secretary of Enterprise and Competitiveness and CEO of ACCIÓ, Jaume Baró Torres, accompanied by the delegate of the Government in the Terres de l'Ebre, Joan Castor Gonell.

The support from the Nuclear Transition Fund is essential to help companies consolidate an economic model that generates shared prosperity in the Terres de l'Ebre."
Nomen Foods, founded in 2017 in Deltebre, is part of Arrossaires del Delta de l'Ebre, a cooperative that produces approximately 35,000 tons of rice annually. Furthermore, it is the first rice company worldwide to obtain B Corp certification, recognizing its high social, environmental, and community standards.
