The competition celebrated the region's visual quality across various categories. In L'Ametlla de Mar, the first prize for best photograph went to Abel Borràs Garcia for his work ‘Després de la tempesta’ (After the Storm), with a prize of 400 euros. Maria Mozhaeva ('Cel pur' - Pure Sky) and José Alza Barrios ('Cel de foc' - Sky of Fire) secured second and third prizes, respectively. The Local Prize was awarded to Javier Revilla Gabarrón for ‘Ventada a l’Illot’ (Windy Spell at the Islet).
For Deltebre, Aaron Serral Gabriel won the first prize of 400 euros with ‘Desembocadura’ (Mouth of the River). Fidel Margalef Estivill ('La Duna Daurada' - The Golden Dune) and Pedro Franch Alonso ('Mirant-se a l’espill' - Looking in the Mirror) took second and third place. The Local Prize for Deltebre was awarded to Àlex Fabra Santiago for the image ‘Martinet de Nit’ (Night Heron).
The contest also highlighted other photographic aspects. Lluís Ena Bessa was recognized in the Human Activity category for ‘Estona de repòs’ (Moment of Rest). Carina Balfegó Morales received the Creativity award for ‘El somni pendent d’un fil’ (The Dream Hanging by a Thread). The Black and White photography prize went to ‘La passió de Villalba’ (The Passion of Villalba) by Agustí Descarrega Solà, and the Gastronomy photography prize to ‘Verat’ (Mackerel) by Miquel Planells Saurina.
The jury, comprising visual artist Antònia Ripoll, photojournalist Joan Puig i Pasqual, and audiovisual creator Albert Vidal i Ribes, evaluated the best captures of the landscape and life in the Ebro region.
The award-winning photographs were exhibited at the Centre Fluvial del Delta until May 24th and will also be on display at the Centre d’Interpretació de la Pesca in L'Ametlla de Mar during July and August.
