The incident occurred shortly after ten in the morning on Carrer del Carme, when some work affected a gas pipe. Seven fire crews were dispatched to the scene to secure the area. An operations zone of approximately 50 meters in radius was established around the leak point, along with a 100-meter mobility restriction zone to ensure resident safety.
As a precautionary measure, residents of the closest properties were evacuated. At the time of the incident, only two people and a pet were in the affected areas, and they were safely relocated without any issues.
The leak remained in the open air, and no injuries were reported. The firefighters awaited the arrival of the gas supply company to repair the pipe and safely stop the leak.
Around quarter to one in the afternoon, the company managed to section the pipe and control the situation. Subsequently, firefighters conducted checks to rule out gas accumulations in the sewage system, with negative results. Once safety was confirmed, mobility restrictions were lifted, and the operation was concluded.
