The Tortosa City Council has ordered the immediate closure of all public facilities this Saturday, February 14, as a severe windstorm continues to impact the Baix Ebre region.

Emergency services have responded to numerous calls involving fallen trees, power lines, and debris from building facades. In the Ferreries neighborhood, roofing materials fell onto a street, damaging fifteen parked cars. Meanwhile, the Remolins exhibition hall suffered significant damage after wind gusts tore off sections of its roof.

"We urge citizens to take extreme precautions and limit mobility as much as possible to avoid incidents."

The municipal emergency plan, known as DUPROCIM, will remain active until Sunday noon. In addition to the wind hazard, officials are monitoring the Ebro River, which has seen its flow increase to 805 m³/s following controlled water releases from the Flix hydroelectric plant.
