The Tortosa City Council has confirmed interest in establishing a second Lidl supermarket in the Els Portals area, anticipating the creation of approximately 60 new jobs.

The new large surface will be located in the Portal de Ciutat Nord partial plan, on a plot exceeding 6,700 square meters. This location is adjacent to the Action store and just behind the Aldi hypermarket.

"The project consolidates Tortosa's commercial appeal and reinforces the Els Portals area as a pole of economic activity."

Mar Lleixà · Mayor of Tortosa
The Mayor of Tortosa, Mar Lleixà, positively assessed the project, highlighting that it will be the second Lidl establishment in the city, following the one the German chain opened two decades ago in the Ferreries neighborhood.
The implementation was made possible thanks to the work of the consultancy firm Trading Habitat, which has promoted other recent commercial projects in the same sector, such as Burger King or PrimaPrix. The sale of the plot was formalized last December, a necessary step before processing the definitive project.
