The Tortosa City Council has officially opened the 2026 Participatory Budgeting cycle this March 2026, inviting residents to decide how to spend 250,000 euros of the municipal investment fund.

The initiative begins on March 20 with a public meeting at Cervantes Street. Mayor Mar Lleixà detailed that the funds will be distributed between Tortosa city (210,000 euros) and the villages of Els Reguers and Vinallop (20,000 euros each), focusing on public facilities and urban services.
Citizens can submit up to three proposals via physical forms or the municipal website. Following a validation phase, the final voting period will run from July 10 to August 31. Eligible voters must be registered residents aged 16 or older as of late 2025.
