Tortosa Parador to close for 18 months for 15.7 million euro renovation

Construction work will begin in January 2027, with the hotel scheduled to reopen in autumn 2028.

The president of Paradores, Raquel Sánchez, announced that the Tortosa Parador will close in January 2027 to undergo a comprehensive 18-month renovation project.

The total investment for the historic building at Suda Castle has risen to 15.7 million euros. This budget covers a full update of guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, alongside significant energy efficiency upgrades such as solar panels.

The Mayor of Tortosa, Mar Lleixà, welcomed the confirmed timeline for what she described as a historic investment. The hotel is expected to remain closed until autumn 2028 while the technical works are completed.
