The Mossos d'Esquadra police force arrested two men, aged 23 and 37, in l'Ampolla on February 28th for the alleged crime of receiving stolen electrical material.

The operation took place around midnight when a patrol from Tortosa noticed a van with visible signs of overloading on the AP-7 highway. Officers stopped the vehicle at kilometer 309 within the municipality of l'Ampolla.
Inside the cargo area, police discovered 2,920 kilograms of cut copper cables and tubes. The suspects provided contradictory stories about the origin of the metal, which was later confirmed to belong to a telecommunications company.
The detainees were brought before the Tortosa duty court last Sunday following the police investigation.
