Two people were injured this Monday afternoon in a partial building collapse on Santa Anna street in Tortosa. The incident required the evacuation of those affected and the declaration of the property as dilapidated.

The collapse occurred around quarter to five in the afternoon and affected part of the third-floor ceiling, which fell onto the second floor. The Firefighters, who dispatched five units to the area, had to extract the two affected individuals from the rubble. According to municipal sources, the two rescued people are the building's owners and sustained trauma injuries.
The owners had reportedly gone to the property to check the results of a minor facade intervention when the third-floor ceiling collapsed beneath them. The City Council has indicated that this collapse is unrelated to the facade work.
After extracting the injured, the Firefighters began a technical inspection of the structure with the municipal architect. Drones and a ladder truck were used to assess the building's condition, although initial observations suggest the affected area is not extensive.
As a consequence of the incident, the council has declared the building in a state of disrepair. This will necessitate the relocation of the three tenants who lived on the ground floor of the property.
