The INUNCAT plan remains in an emergency state to monitor the impact of rainfall across Catalonia. If there are no significant incidents, it is expected to be downgraded to Alert this afternoon, following an assessment at the CECAT Technical Committee. The Meteorological Service of Catalonia forecasts intense rainfall, potentially exceeding 20 l/m2 in 30 minutes, along the coast and pre-coast of Barcelona and Girona until early morning. Showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms.
There are also strong wind warnings, with gusts possibly exceeding 90 km/h, in Empordà, Baix Ebre, Montsià, and Baix Camp. Civil Protection has placed the VENTCAT plan on pre-alert. Civil Protection personnel and volunteers continue to support the most affected municipalities.
From Tuesday midday until 12 PM today, the emergency number 112 has received 921 calls, primarily in Barcelonès (188), Baix Ebre (133), and Maresme (101). The Generalitat Firefighters have responded to 4,082 calls since Saturday evening, focusing today on completing pending services in Vallès Oriental, Maresme, and Xerta, including street cleaning and water drainage.
Advanced command centers in Granollers and Pineda de Mar are coordinating the operation. Current tasks include draining water from car parks and basements, and pressure washing streets to remove mud. Architects have inspected infrastructure, including a slope in Granollers that led to the precautionary evacuation of 22 residents from a nursing home.
Firefighters are also involved in the search for a 12-year-old minor in Granollers, with support from various specialized teams. The search is concentrated in the urban area and outskirts, including previously inspected zones.
Since the INUNCAT Plan was activated on September 30th, the SEM has received 494 alerts, affecting 439 people, 80 of whom required transfer to healthcare facilities. The remaining affected individuals did not suffer serious injuries.
The Catalan Traffic Service reports three road disruptions: the C-352 in the Les Franqueses del Vallès tunnel remains closed due to flooding. Alternative passage is being provided on the GI-682 (Tossa de Mar-Sant Feliu de Guíxols) and the C-1415c (Argentona-La Roca del Vallès) due to landslides.
Rural Agents are collaborating in monitoring rural areas, verifying the condition of flooded crossings, bridges, and forest tracks. They have inspected roads in Baix Ebre (Aldover, Alfara de Carles, Xerta), detecting soil accumulation, erosion, and road closures, particularly in Xerta due to overflowing ravines.
Endesa reports that the distribution network is now functioning normally and meteorological episode-related incidents have been resolved, thanks to the continuous work of over 500 professionals.
