Ports de la Generalitat has completed the repair of two sections of the wooden walkway at the port of L'Ametlla de Mar to ensure pedestrian safety and enhance urban integration.

The main objective of these works, executed by Ports de la Generalitat, is to promote safe mobility for both residents and tourists, continuing the integration of the port with the urban fabric. The work was carried out outside the summer season to avoid interfering with tourist activity in the area.
The wooden walkway, which sees high usage, had suffered significant deterioration in its support structure in two sections due to the passage of time and intense rain episodes that caused flooding from the nearby ravine. The repaired sections connect the plaça del Canó (Canó Square) with the Centre de la Pesca (Fishing Center) and the plaça del Canó with the boatyard.
The works cost a total of 87,000 euros and primarily involved replacing part of the wooden beams supporting the walkway with much more resistant structural steel elements. Additionally, the anchorages were changed, and the pavement wood in the affected area was rehabilitated.
This walkway was originally constructed in 2004 with the aim of gaining space in the inner water mirror of the port and creating a new pedestrian promenade area. This installation has added value to the space, allowing citizens to enjoy the port operations and the sea.
