Authorities have raised the alert level for forest fire danger, activating access restrictions to natural areas and municipalities in the Baix Empordà and Gironès regions.

Due to the heatwave and adverse weather conditions, characterized by high temperatures and low humidity, level 4 of the Alfa Plan has been activated. This measure involves prohibiting access to sensitive forest areas such as the Gavarres Massif, Ribera Salada, and Baronia de Rialb.
The decision affects a total of 45 municipalities across Catalonia, with a significant number of locations in the Girona regions. Among the affected municipalities in Baix Empordà are Calonge i Sant Antoni, Castell-Platja d'Aro, La Bisbal d'Empordà, Palafrugell, and Palamós, among others. In Gironès, the restrictions cover towns such as Girona, Cassà de la Selva, Celrà, and Llagostera.
The Rural Agents have intensified aerial and ground surveillance, with the collaboration of the Forest Defense Groups (ADF), the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Local Police, and the Civil Guard. The goal is to ensure compliance with the ban on lighting fires or using pyrotechnic material in forest lands and the surrounding 500-meter safety zone.
