Baix Empordà will receive 100,633.06 euros in grants for organic agricultural production, a measure that will benefit thirty producers in the region starting this Friday.

The funds, which will be released on June 19, aim to support 521.44 hectares of farmland within the region. This financial injection is part of a broader call for applications promoted by the Departament d'Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació.
Nationwide, the Government has allocated nearly 19 million euros for this grant line, reaching over 3,300 beneficiaries across 42 counties. The initiative covers a total of 100,000 hectares of agricultural land throughout Catalonia.
The initiative is part of the Pla estratègic de la política agrària comuna 2023-2027 and is funded by the Fons Europeu Agrícola de Desenvolupament Rural. The main goal is to promote more sustainable practices and improve the sector's resilience to climate change.
According to the authorities, these grants not only strengthen organic farms but also contribute to biodiversity recovery and improved air quality.
