Emergency teams are working to contain the right flank of the forest fire in the Empordà region, which has scorched 2,400 hectares and kept seven municipalities under confinement orders due to the intensity of the flames.

The firefighting operation, consisting of over 400 ground personnel and various aerial assets, is facing a change in weather conditions. The arrival of the sea breeze, while helping the left flank by pushing the fire toward already burned areas, raises concerns about potential spread toward the Les Gavarres natural space, in the direction of Girona.
Authorities have confirmed that the fire remains active with high potential for further spread. Although material damage has been reported in some buildings and gardens in Calonge, no serious injuries have been reported among the civilian population.
The operation includes support from the Military Emergencies Unit, the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Agents Rurals, and other security and emergency services. Citizens are urged to reduce mobility in the area to facilitate the work of the firefighting teams.
