The Federation of Business Organizations of Girona has held its General Assembly at the Espai del Peix in Palamós, addressing challenges such as labor absenteeism and fishing sustainability.

The meeting served to bring the organization closer to the economic reality of the territory. Attendees were able to learn firsthand about the operation of the fish market and the challenges facing the fishing sector, such as European restrictions, climate change, and the need for generational renewal.
One of the central themes of the day was labor absenteeism, a problem that worries the business community due to its impact on productivity. In this context, the main lines of a future strategic document currently being drafted to combat this situation were presented.
Furthermore, the importance of promoting the consumption of lesser-known local species was highlighted. A project was presented that incorporates local fish into the menus of health and residential centers in the area, thus strengthening the value chain between the fish market and collective catering.
