The Mayor of la Bisbal d'Empordà, Òscar Aparicio, confirmed on February 17 that the local council will take over waste management and renovate the aging municipal sports pavilion.

Following local concerns regarding container maintenance, the City Council will now directly manage the service tender. The strategy focuses on expanding the door-to-door collection system across the entire town to improve recycling rates and urban cleanliness.
Regarding sports infrastructure, the 40-year-old municipal pavilion is set for a major overhaul, including roof repairs and new changing rooms. Aparicio also revealed plans for a second sports hall to accommodate local teams and complete the town's athletic zone.

"The city must be tidy and public spaces must be pleasant for everyone."
