The Generalitat Firefighters are maintaining a surveillance operation this Monday in the Gavarres massif to prevent new flames, in a fire that has not yet been declared under control.

Since the fire began last Friday, the flames have affected an area of 2,200 hectares. Emergency teams are focusing their efforts on the right flank, where the uneven terrain and weather conditions are hindering extinction tasks.
Currently, 184 personnel are working on the ground with the support of 25 water vehicles and aerial assets. The situation is worsened by the heatwave and wind, factors that require caution against potential flare-ups, such as the one that occurred overnight near the Mas Ambròs residential area.
Regarding infrastructure, the GI-660 road remains closed between La Bisbal d'Empordà and Calonge. On the GIV-664 road, connecting Cassà de la Selva, Monells, and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, access is restricted exclusively to residents.
Inspections carried out by emergency teams have detected damage to around eighty buildings within the affected perimeter. Specifically, 11 properties show structural damage to the interior, while 14 others have suffered partial exterior damage.
