The BIOSFERA association has launched NATURABEGUR in Begur, a comprehensive program designed to strengthen biodiversity conservation in the Begur Mountains Natural Interest Space.

This initiative, supported by the Generalitat de Catalunya and local town councils including Palafrugell and Pals, aims to tackle environmental vulnerability through ten strategic actions. The project is funded by the Natural Heritage Fund and will run for three years.
Key terrestrial actions include removing invasive species like Carpobrotus edulis and restoring degraded habitats. At sea, the focus will be on removing plastic waste and monitoring posidonia meadows, which are vital for carbon capture and marine life.

"Protecting posidonia is not just an environmental issue, but also a climatic one."
