The Palafrugell Primary Care Center (CAP) has emerged as one of the highest-rated facilities in the Girona region, according to the latest Plaença survey conducted by the Department of Health.

With an overall score of 8.77, Palafrugell stands well above the Catalonia average of 7.84. Director Joan Bonet highlighted that this achievement is particularly significant for a municipality with over 30,000 residents, as larger health areas typically face greater logistical challenges.

"The increase in the score demonstrates the well-valued work of the center's healthcare staff."

The survey noted improvements in after-hours care and front-desk service. While cleanliness was rated at 96.6%, the center is focusing on reducing noise in waiting areas and improving appointment punctuality, which currently stands at 84.2% satisfaction.
A 2.8 million euro expansion project funded by the Generalitat is expected to begin in September. This infrastructure upgrade is deemed urgent to accommodate new professionals and the growing healthcare demand in the Baix Empordà area.
