The Palafrugell City Council is observing the International Day against LGBTIfobia in Sports this Thursday, February 19, through a series of awareness actions across the local sporting community.

Organized by the Sports Department and the LGTBI+ Space, the campaign includes reading a manifesto during matches and training sessions. The initiative uses the slogan In Palafrugell, diversity moves us to promote an inclusive environment in Catalonia.
Furthermore, the town will implement Law 13/2025, approved on January 20, which mandates gender perspective training for all sports coaches. This legal framework aims to ensure that transgender and intersex individuals, particularly minors, can participate fully in sports.

"There can be no tolerance for discriminatory attitudes."

Margarita Mauri · Social Action Councilor
This commitment, active since 2024, reflects Palafrugell's ongoing efforts to guarantee equal treatment and non-discrimination for LGTBI+ individuals and their families within the local sports scene.
