Calella is preparing to host a new edition of the Ironman Calella-Barcelona this Sunday, which will bring together more than 3,300 international participants.

The town in the Maresme region will become the epicenter of a world-class sporting event, with 27.8% of registered athletes coming from the United Kingdom. Competitors will face a challenge of 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling, and 42.2 kilometers of running. The finish line will be located at Garbí beach, while the start will take place at 07:55h from Gran beach.
More than half of the participants are competing in the Ironman Calella – Barcelona for the first time. Throughout the weekend, the town will also host parallel activities such as a parade on Friday through the town center and the Ironkids on Saturday at 11 am on Manuel Puigvert promenade.
On Saturday at 1 pm, in the VIP area of Garbí beach, the official presentation of the race will take place, along with the handover of 100 children's bicycles from the Ironman Foundation. A portion of these bicycles will remain in Calella, and the rest will be distributed among the municipalities along the race route, as a token of the town's gratitude for their involvement.
This edition will feature significant local representation, with 31 athletes from the town's triathlon clubs: 20 from CN Calella and 11 from Club Triatló Creu Groga. Among them, local triathlete Paula Estragué stands out, making her long-distance debut after recently winning the Ironman 70.3 Vitoria.
