Among the most notable initiatives are those promoted by neighborhood social centers. The crochet group from Carrer Ample will decorate trees with handmade patchwork pieces, while the sewing group from the La Punxa neighborhood will transform their space with their own textile creations. These collectives, made up of about fifteen women, are bringing their regular activities to the streets in an artistic format open to the public.
These proposals are part of the Fem Barri project, an initiative by the Palafrugell City Council aimed at fostering citizen participation, self-organization, and social cohesion. The festival thus becomes a showcase where these community dynamics are transformed into cultural expressions accessible to everyone.
The program also includes a musical proposal originating from the municipal service Aquí t'escoltem, aimed at young people. A young person from Palafrugell will present a musical performance on May 1st at the library, the result of a mentoring process from the youth space Can Genís. The show will revolve around loneliness, inspired by the musician Bruce Springsteen, demonstrating how youth interests can be integrated into the municipality's cultural program.
These initiatives underscore the model promoted by the social and youth sectors, where ideas born in neighborhoods or municipal services can grow and gain visibility within established events. The Flors i Violes 2026 will take place between late April and early May, offering over a hundred activities across forty venues in Palafrugell, including concerts, installations, and proposals for all audiences.
