The ports of Palamós and Roses launched their March cruise season with record-breaking projections, expecting 70,000 visitors and a 1.5% increase in economic regional impact.

The season officially began this Wednesday in Palamós with the arrival of the Silver Muse from Palma. This is the first of 74 scheduled stopovers for 2026. A total of 17 companies will operate in the area, with ten vessels making their debut in these Costa Brava ports.

"Cruises have become a respectful activity for the territory, featuring high-end companies and tourists interested in exploring the local culture."

Esther Roca · Director of Ports de la Generalitat
A significant 75% of visitors are expected outside the peak summer months, contributing to a total economic forecast of 6.7 million euros. On average, each passenger spends 90 euros in the local economy during their stay, which typically lasts about ten hours.
Popular destinations for these travelers include Girona's Old Quarter, the medieval villages of Pals and Peratallada, and Salvador Dalí landmarks in Figueres. Authorities remain vigilant regarding international conflicts and their potential effect on fuel prices.
