The Palamós Town Council has initially approved the 2026-2031 Local Housing Plan, a strategic framework that will guide the town's residential policies over the next six years.

The municipal government has endorsed this plan with the primary goal of increasing public protected housing. Development will focus on both public and private land, with the area surrounding the new bus station identified as a priority zone for urban growth.
The strategy also emphasizes the renovation of existing homes through financial aid and technical support. Furthermore, the town aims to promote social leasing and mobilize vacant properties, establishing the local Housing Office as the central hub for these initiatives.
The drafting process involved 793 residents who contributed through surveys and meetings. Following this initial approval, a one-month public consultation period begins. Once finalized, the plan will enable Palamós to apply for funding from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Diputació de Girona.
