The celebration began this Tuesday with the presentation of the book Expressions marineres, by authors Glòria Mauri and Jordi Salvador, at an event held at the Museu de la Pesca.
The program will continue with eve activities, including the third edition of the running route “La sortida del drac,” organized by the Associació Atlètica Palamós. This fifteen-kilometer race will cover various locations in the municipality.
On the same day, the Teatre La Gorga will host a dramatized reading of the work He contemplat l’alta mar violenta, by writer Blai Bonet, with the participation of the Gespa Teatre group and the Òmnium Cultural entity.
Sant Jordi's Day will feature the book and rose fair as its central event, with nearly forty stalls from professionals and local entities. These will be located between Carrer Major, Carrer Cervantes, and Plaça dels Arbres.
The fair, organized by the Culture department of the Palamós City Council, will be open to the public from ten in the morning until eight in the evening. Coinciding with the fair's opening, Plaça de la Vila will host a new edition of the Continuous Reading, organized by the Biblioteca Municipal Lluís Barceló i Bou.
This year, this activity will focus on reading texts by writer Alfons Cama i Saballs and will last until midday. Additionally, during the morning, a pictorial exhibition dedicated to the legacy of artist Francesc Galí will be open for visits in the City Council's assembly hall.
The Municipal Library also features several exhibitions during these days, with displays dedicated to Italian writer Carlo Collodi and Blai Bonet, as well as an exhibition of bookmark drawings and another focused on children's and young adult literature.
