The Palamós City Council has completed the replacement of the artificial turf at the Football 7 pitch in the Josep Massot i Sais Municipal Sports Zone, ending more than two decades of intensive use during December and January.

The renovation took place at the facility located in the Josep Massot i Sais Municipal Sports Zone in Palamós, where the previous surface had far exceeded its useful life after more than twenty years of continuous service.
The works, carried out by a specialized company between December and January, involved the total replacement of the material. The new turf incorporates state-of-the-art 45-millimeter polyethylene fibers.
This new surface is complemented by an improved elastic base, designed to offer greater comfort, stability, and safety. The main goal of the City Council is to enhance the playing experience and, crucially, reduce the risk of injuries for users, both children and adults.
The total cost of the action amounted to 113,581.58 euros, an investment aimed at ensuring that the sports space, regularly used by football teams and schools in Palamós, meets optimal conditions for sports practice.
