The port of Palamós officially started the Costa Brava cruise season this Wednesday, March 4th, with the arrival of the first luxury vessel of the year.

Between the ports of Palamós and Roses, authorities expect to welcome over 70,000 passengers across 74 scheduled calls. This represents a slight increase compared to last year, with an estimated economic impact of 6.7 million euros for the region.

"We are closely watching the evolution of the conflict in Iran and its potential impact on cruise activity."

The Silver Muse, a high-end ship, inaugurated the season. Local Mayor Maria Puig emphasized that these international visitors contribute significantly to the local economy, exploring the history and gastronomy of the Baix Empordà region. The season has been extended until December 27th to promote off-peak tourism.
